Problem with linear guage

I've tried to set up a linear gauge from 'template 1' (3 colours), (a room temperature gauge 14-40 degC), I can change most of the parameters (changing the colour doen't seem to work) but when I change the 'min' to 14, the template is lost and changes to a simple single line / one colour (a default?). Am I doing something wrong?
